Catalan Air Quality Congress 2025
Bi-annual congress related to mapping for air quality
M. Eulàlia Parés participated for the second time at the bi-annual Catalan Air Quality Congress event in Sabadell. Together with other Catalan actors for air quality control, she discussed the latest actions towards a healthier air and will work together to propose new measures to take.
She performed as chairman in the session on “Tools for citizen involvement in air quality”, where the goal is to discuss tools to approach air quality concerns to citizens. She also gave a talk on “Use of satellite data for air quality monitoring”
In the session chaired by M. Eulàlia, we analyzed how participatory science can improve air quality and urban health. Initiatives related to the use of bicycles linked to healthy activity will be presented. On the other hand, we addressed the impact of air pollution on health and the role of citizen science in its monitoring. Finally, an innovative tool for the detection and management of odors and harmful emissions has been discussed.
It has been an intense event, with more than 200 people involved and 18 roundtables, which allowed us to get in contact with many air pollution experts from administration, academia, and enterprises who want to work towards healthier and more sustainable cities.
